We are excited to invite you to a special virtual alumni event featuring Sarah Sawyer, longtime English faculty member at Williston Northampton School, and author of the acclaimed debut novel The Undercurrent.

Sawyer has taught English for 26 years and lives on campus with her husband, Matt, and their two children. A graduate of Amherst College and the Bread Loaf School of English at Middlebury College, she published The Undercurrent in October 2024. The book has already been featured in the New York Times and been named an IndieBound.org “Indie Next Pick” and an Apple Books “Staff Pick.”

During this virtual event, Sarah will discuss her writing journey and answer your questions about The Undercurrent. To fully enjoy the conversation, we encourage alumni to purchase and read the novel ahead of time.
